Success Stories

Supporting resilient entrepreneurs: case studies of clients who built businesses with JWS Pakistan.

Computerized embroidery and garment design

Ruqayya Bibi

An innovative business in computerized garment designing

01The beginning

Ruqayya Bibi's journey began nearly four years ago, when she turned to JWS Pakistan for an enterprise loan. With determination and a vision for the future, she launched her computerized garment designing business, which quickly gained recognition for its innovative designs and precision and attracted a growing clientele.

The income allowed her to provide better education and healthcare for her family. With this new initiative, she was also able to involve her husband and two sons, giving them a source of earning as well.

02Growing with her community

As her business flourished, Ruqayya hired six women from her community, contributing to job creation where she lives. Her story shows how microfinance can help people raise their socio-economic status and turn hardship into prosperity: access to finance changed her family's life and has had a positive effect on her community.

Garments, cosmetics and skin care

Razia Ashraf

From parlour worker to owner of Razi Garments

01A shop of her own

Razia Ashraf, once a parlour worker, transformed her life with continuous lending from JWS Pakistan. With this support and her savings, she launched “Razi Garments”, a thriving business in the local market. With her loan she bought garments, cosmetics and skin care items in demand among women, and set up her small shop in the heart of the community centre.

02Quality first

As a women-run shop, it quickly became a place of choice for women to buy what they need. She insisted on selling only quality products and never compromised on it, gradually adding more variety and taking further loans from JWS Pakistan to give her inventory a periodic boost.

03A family's new footing

The loans strengthened her family and improved their socio-economic standing. Her story shows how microfinance can break barriers and inspire others to pursue entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency. With her business she now adds up to PKR 50,000 a month to her family's income.
